HSEMS Technical Safety Manager


Job description:

The HSEMS Technical Safety Manager, reporting to the Group QHSE Director, will guarantee that the Company's and Group's (at a worldwide level) HSE Management System has been defined, measured, analyzed and improved, therefore ensuring the highest HSE standards for workers and the environment, in compliance with relevant regulations and set policies.

More specifically, he/she will:

  • Guarantee to verify that the HSE Management System is adequate, also checking through audit activities that have been actually implemented;
  • Guarantee to plan and manage the activities required to obtain the HSE certificates that are relevant to Salini Impregilo S.p.A., keeping the necessary relations with accreditation bodies;
  • Guarantee, by coordinating with the QHSE Functions of the operational sites, to supervise activities aimed at correctly defining the HSE Management System of the controlled companies/branches and to attain the relevant certifications;
  • Guarantee to coordinate verification activities relating to checking that corporate HSE requirements, planning and the execution of adequate audit activities have been applied. He/she will particularly guarantee that the audit activities aimed at complying with national and international regulations and corporate HSE standards are observed by the various corporate functions.
  • Ensure to define operational standards and guiding and supporting actions to the various corporate Prevention and Safeguarding functions, to guarantee, as far as relevant, that Italian Legislative Decree No. 81/08 is correctly implemented;
  • Guarantee to define HSE requirements and methods that must be considered and applied during the design phase of the works, when choosing machinery and plants, also ensuring that they are implemented. He/she will supply technical and specialist support to QHSE Operational units when carrying out these activities;
  • Guarantee that all technical specifications to procure PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) have been defined, preparing regulatory procedures for PPE use purposes.



5/8 years in a responsibility role involving HSE management systems, in industrial companies or companies working on projects

Experience in applying design safety measures

Excellent knowledge of relevant Italian Law

Previous Health and Safety Manager (RSPP) experience

Excellent knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001

Excellent knowledge of Italian HSE Law

Excellent knowledge of Italian Legislative Decree No. 231/01

Knowledge of work-related and engineering Risk Assessment techniques

Knowledge of statistics applied to safety and reporting processes

Knowledge of Accident Investigation techniques (i.e. Tap Root)

Knowledge of system and project Audit techniques

Knowledge of the HAZID and ENVIID methods

Development of HSE procedures


The following will complete the profile:

Negotiation and communication skills

Strong leadership skills

Activity planning and problem solving aptitude

Systemic approach to the assigned work

Use of data and HSE activity analyzing and management software

Fluent English

Preference will be given to candidates who know a second foreign language (Spanish, French and German)
